Anna Vienna Ho

Pianist/Soprano 

Born in Hong Kong. Anna Vienna Ho obtained her Bachelor Degree in Music at the Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in piano. She is currently pursuing her Master Degree in Piano Performance at the Birmingham Conservatoire, under the tutelage of Anthony Hewitt and Margaret Fingerhut. She has obtained the LTCL Diploma in piano and ABRSM G.8 in voice. Anna Vienna has won numerous prizes in both local and international piano competitions. She was the prizes winner of the International Robert Schumann Klavier Welttbert and Schumann International Youth Piano Competition. Due to her excellence of work, Anna Vienna was given several performance opportunities from the university. She was chosen to perform in many Student Recitals, including HKBU Horizon Concert and the Collegium Campanella. Besides performing as a solo pianist, Anna Vienna is also an experienced collaborative pianist. She has performed in varies student chamber recitals in the university and collaborated with many choirs and orchestras.

 

In addition, Anna Vienna has performed actively as a vocalist and she has studied voice with Mr. Cheng Yuk Man. She was chosen as the soprano solo in Britten's A Ceremony of Carols with the HKBU Choir. Passionate in opera, Anna Vienna has participated in different opera performances including Puccini's La Boheme, Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Bizet’s Carmen and Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. She was a chorus member in the Andrea Bocelli Asia Tour with Passione 2013.

 

Anna Vienna was chosen as one of the finalist in the New Generation 2014 and premiered her String Quartet "The Forester in the New Generation Concert at" RTHK Studio One and was broadcast on RTHK Radio 4. Her art song "Gefrorne Tränen" was premiered in the HKBU Student Composition Showcase. She was also awarded the Talent Development Scholarship in two consecutive years.

 

Recently, Anna Vienna won the first prize of the Soprano Solo Open Class(Mollie Mellor Trophy) and the Top prize of the Final (Mabel Whitely Rose Bowl) in Holmfirth Musical Festival. In March 2016, she was awarded the 1st prize of the Post-1900 piano solo class and the advance duet class in the Mid-somerset Festival.
