Janice Zhang
Pianist/Soprano
Janice Ji Zhang was born in China. She started to study Piano with the guidance of Professor Bingbing An, the director of the music education department of Sichuan Conservatory of Music, at the age of six. After a few years, she has obtained the Award of Provincial Grade 10 (top grade) for Piano-Amateur, which was quite an honor.
Due to her hard work and great passion on piano performance, Zhang was accepted into Sichuan Conservatory of Music as a music education student. When she studied at Sichuan Conservatory of Music, she joined the Conservatory Orchestra and started to learn tenor saxophone. During that time, she has performed a series of symphonies and Marches with the whole band. She has also taught the children about the principles of Music in a rural village. Just in her first year, with her strong eager to pursue a better education, she attended the audition held in China by Birmingham Conservatoire and successfully got the offer with the international students scholarship.
After receiving her Bachelor of Music from Birmingham Conservatoire, Zhang was awarded the international students scholarship once again to pursue her Master of Music at the Conservatoire, major in Piano Accompaniment, under the guidance of Philip Martin and Daniel Browell.
